Water Chemistry

Water chemistry including solids, pH, clarity, turbidity, and conductivity.

Terra Scientific offer accredited water chemistry testing services. Our laboratory is accredited for a range of water tests in accordance with APHA Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater (Online Edition). Our expert team ensures the highest level of accuracy, efficiency, and reliability in our testing procedures to provide you with timely results and the information you need to make informed decisions.

Water Chemistry

Basic water chemistry tests are essential in determining the quality of water for various applications, including drinking, irrigation, and industrial uses. Suspended solids, dissolved solids, volatile solids, pH, and conductivity are some of the critical parameters that are measured to assess water quality.

Terra Scientific is accredited for the following tests in accordance with APHA Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater (Online Edition).

  • Conductivity
  • pH
  • Total Solids
  • Total Dissolved Solids
  • Total Suspended Solids
  • Total Solids for Solid/Semi Solid Samples
  • Fixed and Volatile Solids
  • Settleable Solids

Ideally 1L of water sample is required to be submitted in a clean bottle or container. Samples should be kept cool to minimise microbiological decomposition of solids. To ensure the safety of yourself and our team, samples must be properly sealed prior to submission.

Terra Scientific supply sample containers, chilly bins, and icepacks. If you need any of these items, please get in touch with the laboratory.

Standard turnaround times are between 3-5 business days. Urgent turnarounds are available on request depending on the laboratory’s capacity and time of sample submission. A 50% surcharge applies to urgent chemistry analysis. Please contact us first if you require urgent analysis as these are dependent on laboratory availability.

Terra Scientific is also equipped to provide pH titrations, total hardness, visual clarity (including individual calibrated clarity jars), and turbidity testing. Environmental services that are not listed can be organised on behalf of the client.
