Organic Compounds

Organochlorine pesticides, and polyaromatic hydrocarbons in solid matrices.

Terra Scientific offer accredited organic compound testing services. Our laboratory is currently accredited for the analysis of Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs) in soils using Triple Quadrupole Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) in accordance with EPA methods. Our expert team ensures the highest level of accuracy, efficiency, and reliability in our testing procedures to provide you with timely results and the information you need to make informed decisions.

Organic Compounds

Semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) are of concern because they can have adverse environmental and human health effects. SVOCs are a subgroup of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that tend to have a higher molecular weight and higher boiling point temperature.

With so many organic compound contaminants, Terra Scientific chose to set up its organic analytical chemistry services by focussing on OCPs and PAHs. PAHs and OCPs were considered the priority for accreditation due to tying into the National Environmental Standards which encompass trace metals (see NES contaminants suite) and asbestos.

WHAT ARE PAHS AND OCPS?

PAHs are semi volatile environmental pollutants which are primarily generated during the incomplete combustion of organic materials such as coal, wood, petrol, and oil.
Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs) are chlorinated hydrocarbons which are typically used in agricultural industries as pesticides, insecticides, and fungicides.
